5 Reasons Why I Love Libraries in Singapore

“A library is not a luxury, but one of the necessities of life…” -Henry Ward Beecher

Finding a library in Singapore is never a problem. I’m so glad that there are more than 20 Public Libraries where I can read and borrow books. Anyone has an access to magazines, historic newspapers, arts, DVDs, e-readers and reference materials such as dictionaries, encyclopedias and many more. And oh, library users are allowed to borrow books from one library and return them at a different location. Wow, right? Actually there are lots of reasons why I love the libraries here in Singapore, but a few of the main reasons are listed below.

“Libraries are the place where experience meets narrative – where the “real world” touches stories, imaginings, memories, histories, designs, plans, and dreams.”

Some people say libraries are irrelevant because everything’s online now.  Well, that’s not true.  Not everything is online, and even when it is, not everyone is able or willing to access it. So if you are a bookworm or just want to unwind and read a few books, here’s the list of public libraries that you can visit in Singapore – List of Libraries in Singapore
